It's a good contrast to the first film in that we get to see the Jeagers in daylight most of the time, even though they kind of look like giant robotic power rangers. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. There are acrobatics inside the robots as the Jaegers mimic the actions of their drivers who are performing flips and somersaults, the main characters are much younger than in the original movie, and it just feels less realistic.
